Excerpt from THE LINK, Spring 2008 Edition:
Education Service: CCPE is heading for the future – Are you on board?
As you’ve probably experienced yourself, the pharmaceutical landscape is changing faster than ever. 2007 may have been the
busiest year for companies to restructure, right-size and relocate.
Many pharmaceutical professionals either changed employers or became available to take on new challenges. As Stephen Covey1 put it, how do you keep your saw sharpened in such ambiguous times? With so much talent available, organizations seek the most
competitive and employable personnel.
CCPE is working hard to ensure that its curriculum remains current, and includes new solutions to help you face today’s challenges.
To accomplish this we began introducing 8 new programs in 2007, continuing into 2008.
To enhance your learning experience we have just updated the content from a number of courses (Accreditation, Rheumatology,
Healthcare in Canada). Others are being updated as we speak (Neurology, Psychiatry, CHE, Metabolic Syndrome & Diabetes and
Cardiology). The exams, which are on-line and application-oriented, are being revamped to use a variety of questions that evaluate
more than knowledge recall.
On average, we update our content every two years. We use surveys, focus groups and interviews to uncover needs and gaps in
learning. Course updates are occasionally delayed if there are few changes in a particular market or there is little demand for the
course from our audience.
After we develop and design the content, we recruit a large validation group of potential course participants, such as
representatives, managers and related job functions.
